As the only mainstream evangelical school in the area, AACS offers a biblically grounded curriculum designed to partner with Christian families and their churches in the spiritual, academic, emotional, and social development of their children.
One of our core values—developing the whole child—means that we believe that God has created each child in His own image with diverse gifts and talents. We affirm that all individuals are necessary in order for community to be complete; therefore, each child, bearing gifts and encountering challenges, is needed in the body.
Since 1971, Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) has engaged students in an education of excellence, enabling them to impact the world through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to partner with Christian parents to educate and inspire confident thinkers and compassionate servant leaders. We offer students a robust academic and extracurricular experience where they can discover their gifts and talents.
Our distinctiveness is that we teach from the biblical worldview that offers a narrative of all history. These are tough times and students are asking questions about God, human beings, and the world. We welcome students' questions and help answer them with God’s Truth, all from within a worldview that makes sense of the real world. By senior year, students learn that Christianity is not merely a set of beliefs but a total view of reality. Subjects aren’t just separate classes but cohere to form a whole Truth. When life and school have a purpose, the world becomes wider, the imagination is unlocked, and students are equipped with the intellect and skills to become tomorrow’s leaders and thinkers—all for His glory.
Glen Schultz, founder of Kingdom Education Ministries, explains why church, family, and school must unite to address education biblically: "When God and His Word are removed from education, man becomes the definer of truth and meaning of life."
Tomorrow's leaders and thinkers will spend more than 16,000 hours between kindergarten and twelfth grade in school. Christian schools partner with church and home to counter the influences of bad ideas. At AACS, students of all ages work through the questions Who am I?, Why am I here?, and What is my purpose? No matter the context or academic subject, these questions and others that shape a child's understanding of reality are answered using the inerrant Word of God. When students understand that God is the source of all knowledge, it is freeing and enables them to flourish as growing believers and learners who God will use for Kingdom impact.
