Outside of these times, we ask that you expect us to enforce the no device policy and that you speak with your Trailblazers about that policy before registering them for camp.

**Our Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is a unique opportunity for teenagers who are interested in leadership development, and who are accepted via an application and interview process into the program. CITs participate in a mentorship program while also gaining practical experience in helping to run the day to day operations of Eagles Explorations. For teens who are looking for a productive way to spend their summer, we are proud to offer an option that bridges the gap between being a camper and being a counselor.  CITs will participate in leadership development activities, check in daily with their mentor, and take special team building field trips during their time in the program. If you are interested in having your teen participate, reach out to Jacob Roth at jroth@aacsonline.org.

Eagles Explorations Activities

Physical Education - Campers will enjoy building skill in a variety of sports as they have the opportunity to compete and play against their fellow campers. Sports include kickball, handball, soccer, basketball, and more.

Arts & Crafts - Art class may include painting, drawing, building, designing, sculpting, and more! Campers create unique projects each week, develop skill, and flex their creativity.

Science & Eco Explorations - Campers conduct fun experiments and do lots of hands-on projects as they explore scientific principles and often make a bit of a mess in the process! Our very own camper-tended green house is the perfect place for kids to get their hands dirty and explore the world through project-based learning. This unique experience will give them insight into the biology of organisms as they work to plant and harvest organic vegetables and herbs.

"Theme" Activities - This part of the schedule is specifically designed with a focus on the theme for each week. Campers play theme-specific games, make theme-related projects, and complete thematic challenges that help them prepare for Friday's concluding event.

Drama - A fun time of creativity and laughter, drama class builds acting skills and involves a variety of activities! Campers will create skits, play improv games, and enjoy building confidence on the stage in Kerr auditorium.

Photograph & Video Production - After learning some of the basics of photography, campers will have the chance to try out their skills by taking photos of various camp activities happening during the week. Using their own photos to also practice editing skills, the final product is a slideshow of camper photography shown during each Friday celebration. Campers will develop, plan, and produce music videos, short films, camp newscasts, or other creative video projects throughout the week in video production. Their final products will be shared during the Friday end-of-week celebrations!

Bible - Bible class will include games, songs, lessons, and discussion. The weekly focus will relate to a specific Bible story and/or character trait, and will help campers tie together the lessons they are learning and the good news of the Gospel as they connect with God during their time at camp.

Archery - Older campers will learn the basics of archery and will participate in fun challenges and weekly competitions. Younger campers enjoy target shooting practice with age-appropriate equipment and safety in mind! Everyone gets to participate in weekly Nerf wars on Thursdays!

Swimming - On Tuesday mornings of full, 5-day weeks, Eagles Explorations campers travel by bus to the Severna Park Community Center to swim, or to another fun off-campus site for a special active play experience! *Discoverers age group remains on campus at AACS to participate in water activities during this field trup time. *The Tuesday morning field trips are not part of any specialty camp programs.

Other - Water play options (sprinklers, slip n' slide, soap hockey, etc.) are available throughout the week so campers stay cool. Free play periods are filled with nature walks along the creek or friendly competition in the game room or aux gym. Weekly chapel times include singing and a short message, followed by small group discussion to encourage campers to connect with God and each other!
