This rock musical is a creative re-telling of the gospel story and spotlights the talents of our choral, drama, instrumental music, and art departments. In addition to learning the blocking, music, and choreography, our students are hard at work developing ways to use our production to raise money for earthquake-ravaged Haiti. At the beginning of Act II, Jesus sings, "Out of the ruins and rubble/out of the smoke/out of our night of struggle/can we see a ray of hope...We can build a beautiful city/yes we can, yes we can." Our Beautiful City Project will give students the opportunity to "buy" bricks in our set and to create original works of art which will be offered for sale at our three performances.
