News
AACS has hired Wendy Rogers as Middle School Cross Country coach and Bailey Godfrey as Middle School Volleyball coach.  Both women are experienced competitors and coaches.

The first day of school is the first day for middle school fall sports tryouts. Come prepared and in shape on the first day.

All AACS athletes are required to have a physical from a doctor on file with the athletic department. If you have not done so, arrange for a physical as soon as possible. This policy is set on a school-year calendar. Your physical for the school year lasts for that school year. If the calendar that you have for physicals does not align with that or if you are allowed physicals only one every two years, we will accept physicals from outside the school-year calendar if the doctor is willing to send a copy of the latest one. If you have questions, call Mr. Topp.

One location for drop-in physicals is:
First Medical
20 Mayo Road
Edgewater, MD 21037
410.956.6800
Hours - 9:30 to 4:00, Mon-Thurs and 9:30 to 2:00 on Fridays.
Cost is $55, including urinalysis.

Another option is at the CVS Minute Clinic, CVS, on Riva Road.

The AACS School Board has instituted an athletic participation fee for middle school athletics of $110 for the school year. This fee helps defray the operating costs of the athletic department. Payment should be sent to the Business Office at the Bestgate campus. Do not give the payment to a coach. Note that there will be a deadline for the payment. Failure to pay by the deadline could result in the athlete being restricted from playing.

Game schedules will be linked below for the current season.

Monthly Practice Schedules
Look here for the link to the practice schedule for the current month. Veracross does not currently have practices listed.     Aug-Sept 2010

Driving directions caution
If you click on an opponent's name within a team's schedule, the driving directions MapQuest provides will begin from the Upper School campus, which you may find confusing. However, if you notice a small paved road icon next to the opponent's name on a team's schedule, click the paved road icon. It is a link to the most current driving directions. You can also download a copy of driving directions to middle school's athletic venues that we have created for your convenience. The file is in alphabetical order in PDF format, and was updated September 05, 2006. Details>>

Athletic Vision
At AACS, our goal in the Middle School athletic program is to teach students how to be Christian athletes. We take both of those words seriously, and we take great joy in being able to use our skills in the sports we love as a means of praising the God we love.

AACS offers interscholastic teams for 7th- and 8th-graders in girls' soccer, girls' volleyball, and boys' soccer and co-ed cross-country in the fall; girls' and boys' basketball in the winter; and girls' and boys' lacrosse in the spring. We compete against local private schools and other Christian schools in the Annapolis-Washington, DC-Baltimore area.  Sixth graders are also eligible for certain sports, soccer, cross country and basketball.

Home games for the Middle School athletes are played at our Bestgate campus. Some teams also practice at the public park adjoining our campus or at the campus of our Lower School on Ridgely Avenue.

For more information about Middle School athletics, please call Bob Topp, Middle School Athletic Director, at 410-573-6877.
