Spring Fling 2011

The Spring Fling is a trip over Spring Break for any student in grades 7-12. The purpose of the trip is to provide students a place to get away and have an AMAZING time with their friends over break. It is packed with more FUN than they can dream of while also giving them a chance to grow personally deeper with Jesus Christ. This trip takes kids out of the pressure-filled daily life and puts them in a non-threatening atmosphere where we try to break down walls and really give kids a chance to meet Jesus Christ where they are. If you want a fun, life-changing week, JOIN US.

The trip was created in 1994 by Mr. Brophy and has been taken annually ever since. Most students who have gone in the past say that this trip is a highlight of their school year.

Scholarship Fund

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION
Because of the spiritual benefits of the trip, we do not want anyone to miss out on going due to financial reasons. Following the loss of our first son we ask people to contribute money in his memory to a fund that would allow kids to attend camp to hear the Gospel and enjoy time with their friends. The result is the Matthew Brophy Scholarship Fund that we use yearly to help students get to camp. We feel blessed to be able to use this tragedy to help others. If you need some financial assistance for the trip, please contact the Brophys. If you are in a position to help others or if you have benefited in any way from the trip and would like to give others the chance to have the same experience, please consider donating to keep the fund going.
Thanks. Paul and Sharon Brophy

Leaders and Staff

LEADERS – We get former students who have been on the trip and some youth pastors from the area to be the leaders with the students for the trip. These people are volunteers giving their time because they love Christ, love the trip, and love kids. They spend the week hanging out with students and connecting with them and just being there for them. We have one leader per 10-12 students.

WORK CREW – We take 20-30 adults, usually parents, who help with the food services and some of the adventure activities. There is no fee for helping out on work crew, but it is hard work. Many of the volunteers have said it is exhausting while at the same time incredibly rewarding to be a part of something so important and meaningful.

STAFF – We have another 10 or so adults filling roles such as camp director, worship leader, program director, and camp speaker. They oversee and run all the details of the trip.

GUESTS – We can sometimes take adult guest who want to witness the trip, but do not want to have to work while there. These adults are required to pay the camper fee to attend.

(About 70 adults are on site in these different roles)
