Early Thursday morning, the Lower School students from the Severn campus were all abuzz with excitement! It was their much anticipated day for a field trip to the Upper School for STEM Day.
The field trip began as the students loaded on the yellow bus and made their way to the Upper School campus. Under the guidance of Mrs. Smith, the Technology and Engineering Instructor at the Upper School, young students worked with engineering students on activities like building brush bug robots, completing circuits, and making soft, cold, and colorful snow.
After a scavenger hunt across the campus the students met for pizza and recess. Upper School students then escorted them to the Kerr Building to talk about all of the exciting things they had done. Upper School students helped them think about and describe what they learned during the morning. The Lower School students then had the opportunity to walk on the stage and report what they learned from their experiences.
After watching a demonstration of one of the robots from the robotics club, they returned to their campus wearing smiles on their happy faces. It was a great day!
