For those who are new to AACS, or whose kids have just aged-in to Spring Fling, this is a life-changing opportunity for them to meet God on their own (apart from family traditions/patterns), amid their peers, and with counselors (maybe you?) who will work to show them just how wide, deep and high God's love is for *them.* It is a great Christmas gift...for some their first "solo" vacation, for others, the vacation they look forward to all year! We need adult volunteers! Come see for yourself!

Alumni Update, Garth Thorpe '01

Garth Thorpe ’01 is currently the Field Coordinator for (un) adopted, a ministry of Lifeline Children’s Services, in Birmingham, Alabama where he facilitates in-country orphan care projects. He graduated from Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon in 2005 with a degree in Bible and Theology and Educational Ministries and upon graduation served as a missionary for two years in Bangladesh working with Muslim refugees translating an unwritten language into oral Bible stories. After this he worked at an outdoor alternative educational school where we lived with troubled youth year-round outside teaching life-skills and planning various backpacking and canoeing adventures.

Nathaniel Elliott ’06 took the plunge and left his full- time job at a consulting firm to go into business for himself in 2013. He wanted to build a disruptive technology that you could touch, feel, and see that created jobs for individuals that wanted to work from home. And thus he founded ahWriting, which produces handwritten cards for enterprise organizations to help them increase their sales, consumer engagement, fundraising efforts, and many other business needs. Megan Elizabeth Griffith ’13 is currently living in Los Angeles, California pursuing her dream as a singer, musician and songwriter. A multi-faceted instrumentalist and composer of the piano and guitar, Megan’s sound is described as “Katy Perry meets Adele.” Her debut single and music video, Closer to You, is set to release in Spring 2014.

Christmas Choral Concert: Festival Of Nine Lessons & Carols

This Christmas season we are proud to invite you to the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols Christmas Concert at the Upper School Campus, Kerr Center for The Arts Theatre. This is an exciting time to celebrate the advent season and the birth of our Lord and Savior! Opening night is December 12th at 7:30pm with a second concert on December 13 at 7:30pm.

This is a wonderful opportunity to share with family, friends, and members of our community about the message of our glorious Savior through the gift of music! We would love to have packed houses at both performances and ask that you help by spreading the word to many! We need your help to fill EVERY seat! We wish that all may be exposed to this beautiful musical story of God's love and truth.
Tickets for the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carol Christmas Concert will go on sale at the Main Office at the Upper School Campus on Tuesday, Dec. 2nd. Tickets are assigned seating (be sure to purchase early for the best seats!) and can be purchased in person, or by contacting Sharon Mahaffey at smahaffey@aacsonline.org, Sharon Wiley at swiley@aacsonline.org or by calling (410)519-5300 ex. 3101. The price is $10 for adults, $8 for students. All reserved tickets need to be paid in full 3 days before the concert in order to keep reserved at will call.
